We enter 2009 with a new focus for the society - more on that later - and the new look to the website with the bulletins available on PDf and CD.

The Bulletins are available on line or in hard copy or a CD collection (in Pdf format) for those who who would like them.

Syd Hoare who is one of the founder members of the Kano Society, has just published a new book on the History of Judo, some parts of which were included in the Bulletins last year. His new book is available from www.sydhoare.com 

A History of Judo

This book, first published in 2009, sprang from one of the Bath lectures of 2005 namely The Historical Development of Judo. Whereas the lecture was roughly 12 pages of text this book is a much expanded and detailed 214 pages of history. Many interesting facts about Jigoro Kano and the forces at the time that shaped judo have been unearthed.

We are reintroducing a discussion forum - articles will be posted and if anyone has comments please use the feedback form  so that selected responses can then be posted on the site. This will not be an 'automatic' chat style upload to avoid spammers.
